Smart borders lads, smart borders.

I cannot fathom what the brixteers think it will achieve, Not in āsunlit uplandsā ātaking back controlā bullshit terms but in actual, what will be better each day termsā¦
Nothing. In fact, in day-to-day terms for most of us very little will probably change. Weāll have pissed billions up a wall for nothing. If you work in manufacturing or logistics it might not be much fun at all. Also, expect to queue for hours at EU passport control when you are on your new, blue passport.
I know that
You know that
Everyone who voted remain knows that
What the fuck do all the brexiteers think though? I genuinely cannot understand what they expect. Iām not talking about the foaming at the mouth nazi twats that just voted for farages anti immigrant bollocks, I mean the otherwise pretty sensible people
The only one I know expects that when the rules change in this country they will, henceforth, do so because our parliament has decided to make those changes. Heās prepared to concede that sometimes we will have to make ones we donāt really like, in exchange for keeping things sweet with our trading partners. But we wonāt be forced to accept the changes because the only alternative would be to renege on an international treaty, which would have been a huge deal. He genuinely believes that EU processes are undemocratic. We can (and he and I do) argue about how democratic UK government processes are. But when it comes down to it I have to admit that UK voters can, if they dislike him sufficiently, directly keep Jeremy Corbyn out of power. They could not directly have kept Ursula von der Leyen out of power. Or Charles Michel.
VB
(Ignoring the lunacy of 30-odd% of the poll yielding an 80-seat majority or bigger for Blair and 10% of the poll yielding no seats at all) the UK voter has had no choice on three of the last four incumbents of No 10 (at least first time around).

Yea, but, power held by unelected EU officials is minimal in comparison to the council of ministers Vs gains in frictionless trade, free movement, blah blah blah
Doesnāt matter now because Tory cunts won. Hopefully not too long before we are back to some good old fashioned civil unrest.
Wonāt be much civil unrest though, love island is back on the idiot box and thereās the Wendyball to keep the plebs distracted
First time around, yes. That is the fly in the ointment. But when electing to put the party into power they should have been aware that there was some risk of, say, May or Johnson getting the gig. Itās not as if the media never speculated about it.
That wasnāt my experience when it came to the power of the relevant commissioner in deciding science policy. I was involved in a large proposal led by some Germans, the success or otherwise of which depended on the structure and contents of an EU Framework Programme. The route for influencing the next FP involved the German lab team (scientists and admin) influencing the German science ministry, the German science ministry influencing the German government (similar processes went on in other involved nations including, to a small extent in the case of my project, the UK), the national heads of government conducting some seriously Byzantine horse-trading in the Council of Ministers, the Council of Ministers influencing the Commission and the Commission structure then influencing the individual Commissioner and his staff. Not the least of the problems with this is that things move quite fast in science, but getting an idea through the above process (for want of a better word) took years. And years and years and years. And was constantly knocked off course by changing priorities elsewhere, commonly at the highest level. It made the decision-making around, say, HS2 or the Northern Powerhouse look transparent and brisk.
VB
1: We donāt want to do it any more but weāre too scared to say so
2: We donāt give a flying fuck about northerners
Iād say the government decision-making is pretty brisk, and itās transparent to me.
Ironically it might have changed if weād stayed in the EU though. In todayās news thereās a concrete example of the UK deciding to let things stay as they are now despite the EU wanting to change them
VB
They are either retired or think it wonāt affect them, in other words they donāt give a shit.
They seem very bothered⦠they certainly were bothered enough to vote twice
Ho hum
Some more of this is helping
Rejoice!!!
I can rest easy that itās all been worth it
The Brexit 50p. Coming just in time to make your holidays in Euroland much more expensive this summer.
Brexit 50p. Soon to be worth about 25 Eurocents.
That was the point I was makingā¦
