How do you work that one out? He missed an opportunity to behave like a statesman and show a bit of leadership. All he did was to offer the Tory Press the opportunity to denigrate him (yet again) while blithely ignoring the fact that their poster girl has fucked up (yet again).
He is a twat, and poorly advised too, by the look of it.

So he can use phrases like “you have to talk to people with whom you may profoundly disagree” to justify meetings with Hamas, Hezbolla, convicted IRA terrorists etc etc, but he throws his toys out of the pram and walks out of a meeting, at a time of national crisis, because Chuka Umunna was invited?
He turned up, so he must have seen some merit in attending before his flounce.

Ian Blackford said it was a complete waste of time. You have an odd perception of what a statesman has to do. And do you really think Corbyn cares much about the Tory press? They’re conflicted enough about Theresa May and Brexit. Their own readers don’t even know where they’re coming from at the moment. Read some of the BTL comedy on their websites.

Yes. If he wants to move into number 10 he needs to persuade those who didn’t vote for him the last time to vote for him next time. Labour is likely to get annihilated in Scotland next time around so he needs to persuade the floating voter (Sun or Star reader types - I accept the Fail is a lost cause) to vote for him. Not looking like an uppity numpty might be a good way to start gaining some ground.
He is there to represent us not act like a 14 year old with a sulk.

Basically, Corbyn just showed that he rated May in full hatstand wibble mode higher than Umunna.
He was there, so he is qualified to make that point with some authority. I’m sure JC will soon be making the same point, based, not on being there, but hearing what other people said.
