What quick detailer do you use?
I’ve only tried the Finish Kare 425. I sometimes use it after a wash as a drying aid. It is very good. Incredibly slick and the beading is insane. It’s also very anti static so repels dust.

Bilt Hamber QD. Watered down (60% water)
A bottle goes a long way.
I’ve only tried megs as a comparison, BH works out notably cheaper. Its works very well to top up BH paste waxes.
I wasn’t wrong. Second pass with heavy cut pad and compound plus max speed on the DA and I still have some swirl marks.
My garage lighting is ruthless when it comes to seeing paint imperfections, it still looks crap unfortunately.
I going to run of of polish if I carry on like this. Need to investigate alternative pads and compound.
I enjoyed sorting the Ford, the bmw has turned into a pita.
Menzerna might be an option for polish.
I bought this earlier on the basis I really like their products, its a one stage all in one and it was reduced (free p&p). -
I’m using their 400 heavy cut compound and their red heavy cut pad. After 3 passes the top of the rear wing and boot lid looked better, but thats not feasible for the whole car.
I think I’ll try a different pad as their red pad seems to clog quite quickly. Maybe one of the hexlogic ones…
Suggestions welcome if you know of a good one for this task.
Hard to photo before and after, the swirl markes are far worse than the camera picks up, but it’s clear from how blurred the reflection is how buggered up the top coat is.
The wing has had a first stage cut, (polish and wax to follow). Marked improvment, can see the difference even withoit lighting compared to the adjacent paint on the bonnet.
Had enough of the pads I’ve got, new hexlogic ones on order. Plus a 3" backing plate and 4" pads to get into Bangle’s contours.
Is that an M54 Z4?
Yes
Nice, very impressed with my N52 330i!
A 3L na 6 is a lovely drive, nice to have a big(ish) engine that is happy to rev.
What year is yours?
I’ll stick a photo up of some Polish faff once I’ve assembled a set of decent alloys, the current ones are kurbed and lacquer peeling. Got two fronts so far washed and cleaned today.
Mine is a 2007 last N52.
They look very good.
I like Bridgestone Potenza tyres, have them on my daily, decent wheel rim protection.
Absolutely. Such a useful feature, it’s at the top of my features list when buying tyres.
They came with those on, quite worn. I plan to use my current set of Michelin CrossClimate+ on them.
Proper wheel trim(mer)
Looking great Tristan!
Strange that there’s now three on here with a 911 (that I know about)…and they’re all silver!
Only a basic wash today pretty much. I did spend some time on the wheels and put the Finish Kare paste wax on them to protect them and stop the dirt sticking. I polished and protected the tips with Britemax twin polish and protect. I used Serious Performance quick detailer as a drying aid to give a bit of shine and dirt repellence.
Next time I’ll decontaminate the paint before putting some paste wax on.
The Audi is overdue a polish with my dual action polished (once I dig it out of the garage). It’s buried under a pile of junk.
