Probably no coincidence that Kondo were exhibiting in the UK for the first time in many years now Definitive no longer represent them.
Forgot one highlight. We stumbled across Chasing the Dragon room while he was playing 1/2 inch 30ips master of Ella Fitzgerald tribute record. WOW it was simply fantastic. The 1/4 inch 15ips copy is only £360 perhaps I’ll own a copy one day.
Terrific photos, thanks for posting
The 2’s are far and away the best value for money speakers I have ever owned. If my hi-fi pot burst tomorrow, I would happily live with a pair.
The 6’s were more of everything, but just a bit too much more for my room
I might be mistaken, just for a change obviously, but I think their room was something to do with David Brook, who is MCRU iirc? He had a couple of other rooms there too. One selling £200 fuses.
He’s also rumoured to be buying NVA from Dunns widow.
He’s obviously going to try and cover every possible base.
What was this room with these mauve horns and r2r? That looks as if it ought to have been pretty good
I absolutely avoided that room, because of poverty, but stuff being in credit card reach reasons.
I saw that he was selling Kondo but to be honest I thought it was just the cable.
He obviously has ambitions!
I think it’s Select Audio who’ve taken on Kondo. Nice to see Ashizawa there this weekend
It was Malvern Audio with the pretty horns. It was actually a good sound but looked like a huge spend and complex set up to get there.
It was Meh…
It has very fine cable lifters which is what really matters.
Lauren says the Mauve Horns look “satisfying”. ![]()
Not quite sure what to make of that tbh.
Think it was part of gpoints stuff
Really good show as always but now knackered and work in a few hours
By far the best organised uk show I’ve been to
Pen count was dismal and only found some hotel ones late in the day
The tannoy t shirt makes up for the pens though I think small might look more like a boob tube
Lovely to catch up with everyone
Second this.
I think you’d have got a large proportion of the sound with much simpler electronics, but Rob was also up until the wee hours trying to sort the room and set things up just so.
Anyone else find the big Tannoys a let down? I’ve heard them before and they sounded immense (in a smaller room), but they didn’t work in that big room - bass was too much when sat down and a bit thin when stood up.
