Cocks on clocks (Part the Second)

How does it feel comfort wise?
I’m a little concerned that if I get one it won’t feel ideal after the 36 Explorer gets so much use.
Wrist is 16 or 17? Six and two thirds…

It is heavier than the Explorer, but then it is not the same watch!
It is not outrageous and quite comfortable, I don’t have big wrists, probably smaller than yours.
I had two links out of the std bracelet.
The Glidelock system is superb, better than the system on the Explorer which means you can adjust the ffit to a fine degree.
I thought you had been to an AD. Didn’t you try one on?

My 39mm Explorer weighs 130gms
The Sub weighs 152 gms

Both with 2 links removed

The Sub is the newer ceramic bezel version

Is that a real one mate?
How much did you pay for it?

The display ones aren’t fitted so it’s not easy to “wear” them.
I’ll probably have another go by stuffing something under the clasp to mimic it being sized.
Still waiting for the mark two bezel to appear as I am pretty certain I prefer the warmer green.

Just be sure that you are on the list for the actual model reference that you want.
Don’t assume the AD will automatically move you to a new list if the model changes slightly.

They aren’t supplying the mark one LV anymore. It just changed sometime late 2023 and the dealers were t even told!
The display piece is the 1 and anything arriving is the 2. In reality I have no choice now, but I’d like to see one all the same. I was told about the change when we confirmed interest (confirmed what I knew).
Also told me it was a little less wait than a Batman would be.
The PCL ultimately helped me decide for sure. I’d ruin them.

The exhibition pieces are sold or allocated which I find odd because theyre basically demo models at that point

My local ADs window pieces change every week or two

They are not allowed to sell display watches.
They get returned.

Might depend because a friend looking for told this by a staff member but :man_shrugging:

Sod buying new anyway personally

Rolex introduced display watches as they were in agreement it wasn’t good business to have empty windows.
I am absolutely certain the models are NOT for sale and they are sent back. If you are shown something for sale you are trying on an allocation which is a little naughty.
If you want something new let me know!

Good luck buying a new one.
Eddie Platts sells these through TimeFactors,
He only opens the shop at specific times and normally sells out of all stock in minutes.
Next opening Sunday 3rd March at 14.00

Have your buying finger ready!

Isn’t their QC and after care meant to be decidedly shonky??

Yes, I’m well aware of the crazy sales window. Will try at 2pm this weekend.

I’ve read a few comments about the owner. Not too many horror stories about QC though.
At £345 it’s worth a go, not exactly Rolex money and easy to move on (though I intend to keep it).

The expedition one looks nice

Really like the commander as well

Like those Chris. The issue is the online store opens at a designated time every few weeks.
Once 200 orders are received it closes. This usually happens within a couple of minutes.
I’m told it’s best to log in early and have card details saved on your device for speedy checkout.
Flippers seem to buy plenty of these up to resell, because the store is such a pain in the ass demand is high.

The exact opposite is (and has always been) true, despite the fact the owner is knocking-on a bit now and not in the best health.

I’ve seen a lot of posts about him arguing that stuff isn’t faulty despite it being broken.
That’s the web for you though, you can find any opinion you want if you look.
