What a fantastic story and heirloom Gareth, but please hold on to it
I was going to say, NATO all the way, but I see youâre already there
I called in at Resident when I got back to Brighton.
I was obviously your stalker today
Havenât you got a phono to listen to?
I can multi-task me!
Listen to music and post crap on here at the same time!
My pleasure, lovely watch and lovely to work on
Enjoy it
That photo doesnât really do it justice, I saw it yesterday and the patination of the tritium lume on the markers is lovely, they look almost white in that photo.
It is in really nice condition.
Is it silly money or at the reasonable end of Submariner pricing?
Tis nice.
Looks exactly like a Rolex, any Rolex, all Rolexâ
The code number is different.
Rolex lovers are probably where shabby chic started. So if it looks more battered then itâs worth more.
5513 mk1 maxi dial means expensive
The seiko looks sooooo much nicer
Is there a moody that has Bolox instead of Rolex? Iâd definitely buy that for a dollar.
More true to say that modern Rolex look like this, the 5512 and 5513 were the first models to have crown guards and oversized crown and set the design for the modern submariner
How would you know that, as a non watch collector ?
I like it, wouldnât spend the money myself, but itâs a nice subtle watch.
As Kevin says the photo doesnât show the creamy coloured lume off at all.
Itâs a smaller softer look of a submariner compared to a modern one and the plastic glass adds another softness to the dial.
Plus it wears very comfortably as lighter and more rounded case back than the new ones.
People wouldnât know you had a rare dial early submariner on.
Just a Rolex and so try to nick it anyway.
