Cocks on clocks (Part the Sekonda)

No, it’s a new line, 42mm, much thinner, more angular.

Thinner is definitely good :+1:

Technically yes but ‘at heart’? Not so sure about that.

A new(ish?) vintage Omega dealer was suggested to me on Insta. They carry some nice stuff. I followed them.

Today Insta suggests that I might want to follow “taking are cuntry bak” or some such shit which I initially thought was a parody but nope, they’re proper mouth-breathing Nazis.

Why on earth?

Oh, they’re followed by the dealer.

Blocks all round but really, WTF?

Nice pics, Nick :+1: Like all of those B-C variants - couldn’t possibly read 'em, nor have occasion to wear 'em, but I just enjoy the fact they exist :ok_hand:

Just like Paul Thorpe who tried to re-invent himself into a ‘journalist’ when the watch stuff got harder after Jamie Thorpe got jail time from selling fakes.

So glad he no longer posts his YouTube watch stuff as it was 90% bollocks, but it always got shared around.

Flag shagger vibes definitely in this photo

Had a little trip out to Liverpool today and tried on the new Planet Ocean at the Omega Boutique.

It’s a very nice thing indeed. I really like the new shape.

While I was trying it on, the sales person had a nose at my Speedy through her loupe and informed me that when I had it serviced, SWS had put the crystal on incorrectly, wrongly oriented and there’s some tiny stress fractures :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:.

I had a problem with it when it came back from the initial service. They returned it with all the old parts with it, including the old crystal, but the chronograph kept stopping at 57 seconds, so it went back to have that sorted, and when it came back from that they didn’t include any old parts, so they must have reused the crystal.

Think I might toddle along to the Trafford Centre Omega boutique, who handled the service, and have a little chat…

I just had an accident. My 2 favourite watch marques collaborating. Of course the price on demand stipulation means I’ll never afford one but just knowing this madness exists gives me the horological equivalent of bus riders lob.

Popped up in a mail from Bucherer. Didn’t someone express a desire for one of these? £3.5k isn’t too bad maybe?

These guys are advertising all over the airport

This looks nice but it’s an awful lot of money.

If I end up in Belfast with a couple of hours to kill I’ll have to toddle along and have a look.

Nico alert!

Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I’d never heard of the guy. Watching people extemporise about watches on YouTube isn’t my idea of a good time.

He’s quite… “noisy”…

I see what you mean.

The guy I usually deal with is the stereotypical urbane “silver fox”.

This guy, err, isn’t

Never heard of him but it started playing a ‘10 brands you should never buy’ and thought it was quite funny (and true)

I like him

He’s very uncouth.

But he has enough traction to make sure the big brands have to acquiesce and accept him.

Underneath the offensive exterior is a genuine watch guy.
