Computer games and that

Just had a look at the modules. This gets expensive, very quickly.

They often have 50% sales, but yes.

It does, unfortunately, but the core version is free and you can add the Flaming Cliffs 3 package, which isn’t too expensive, to get a few aircraft (F15C, A10A, Su33, MiG29 and P51). Also worth waiting for the sales, I think FC3 was like £15 or £20.

It’s a steep learning curve and very unforgiving, due to being realistic. A good joystick is absolutely mandatory and for thing like the F14/F16/F15 etc. you want a HOTAS throttle as well, at least if you want to do anything other than just flying about.

Can you do F35?

Yes, there’s a third party F35 mod (and many others). The flight models are nowhere near as good as the official aircraft, though.

Beats golf. :joy:

Now I need to practice my Case 1.

I’m not surprised. I know a guy who worked for a firm who did some of the modelling work for MS:FS. In his 6 months of dedicated work on the project, I think all he did was 1-2 specific instrument models on the consoles of some of the planes. That was it. Such involved work. Part of it the challenge was just finding reliable images of the specific instruments to reference.

Don’t stress it.

Superb game and just gets better as you progress. Looks gorgeous on the five.

Spent the evening being shot down by @coco in IL2 (WW2 flight sim).

VR really makes it a lot of fun, very immersive.

Haha, beat me by one point. :grimacing:

I think about 80% of the kills were mutual destruction from head on collisions with the odd cannon shot straight to the face. another 15% were losing control through incompetence…just turning nicely… “Wait wut!? Why am I upside down spinning and falling out of the sky?!” And most of the rest were “my engine has melted”

Edd’s special skill was running out of ammo.

The VR is fucking brilliant, though. I’m glad the motion sickness has gone away, that was a bit worrying at first.

Coco “what happened where are you”
“Behind you”
“Why am I not dead?”
“No ammo”

Once you learn to shoot, I’ll be worried.

Not a computer game, but hnnnggg

Just got this for the PS4 yesterday.

I’m not a fan of realistic driving simulations, and this isn’t one.

I’ve no real idea what’s going on, but for £12.50 street price it’s great fun.
