Just been playing PS VR for the first time. Wipeout is fucking awesome but very hard to not feel like puking
So having persevered with Wipeout VR for a bit, itās quite apparent that the motion sickness aināt going away, thus ruining one of the best experiences of one of my favourite games
Attention turned to i. where is my Dreamcast? and ii. how to get a decent picture from my flatscreen via HDMI. Cue rabbit hole plunge.
Firstly, no sign of DC, controllers, joystick, keyboard but a few games. Hel reckons I sold them and have forgotten but I suspect shenanigans. But net result no DC.
Back in the day I had mine plugged straight into a big VGA monitor and recall Metropolis Street Racer looking very nice indeed. VGA monitor also long gone.
Gonna be a long evening seraching through the shite on ebay and continuing research into how to get a decent screen image through HDMIā¦
Have you tried the seat settings in Wipeout VR, I think there are three. The one I use is is like the ships compass, the seat stays level when the ship flips around, otherwise for me itās too disorientating when the seat is in the fixed to the ship position.
Kaico convertor from ebay. We have them for DC, GC and original Xbox and they work well.
Edit: like this.
The Elden Ring DLC is great but I am finding it very difficult. Picked it up again last night after being away on holiday for a few weeks and was really struggling!
Made it to the final boss and got humped a few times so far. Try again tonight.
As an interesting continuation to the original post on this thread, Firaxis have just announced Civ 7:
Definitely some interesting ideas presented, but will all depend on the implementation of course. Release date not until Feb 11th 2025
I used to love Civ and Civ 2 as a kid. I recently tried Civ 6 and found it way too complicated. Just donāt have the time to get into it.
Similar thing with Sim City (now Skylines or something). Itās a shame, part of what made them fun was the balance of planning and strategy but still relatively straightforward play. Now all these games have got so complex.
Iām trying Fallout 4.
Currently not at all clear on what Iām doing so it might turn into a one hour then ragequit, following by trying it again and finding that Iām hopelessly addicted.
Probably my favourite game over the last decade. I donāt bother with the main storyline and find other ways to amuse myself, which in a world that size is easy to do.
My latest character has absolutely fuck all combat skills and relies entirely on charisma and luck to persuade people to do what I want. Itās fun but also basic deathclaw meat.
Iām not at all good at it, but Iām enjoying it.
The game mechanics seem very similar to Skyrim.
Now realise that I should have bought the āGame of the yearā version
The main thing when you first start is to accept that you are a bit shit and no you cannot go head to head with bears and deathclaws and a gang of supermutants will fuck you up.
Choose your battles and donāt be afraid to run away.
Collect lots of shit left lying around and learn what you can break this down into which will help you with crafting etc.
Anyone played X4: Foundations? Looking for a new time sink.
Itās been on my steam wish list about 5 years.
I played X1 and 2 to death.
Currently playing Far Cry 5 because it was Ā£5 on the PlayStation store.
Itās good but not great - rather repetitive more than anything. But it will pass the time until the Horizon Zero Dawn remaster.
Looking for a new time sink. Maybe that or No Mans.
How bored are you now vs how bored do you want to be?
Played it recently? Itās meant to be really good now.
