Cricket, lovely cricket (Part 1)

Quite!

Silly shot by Curran though, no need to go for the big shots.

Last wicket partnership apparently, rest of them can’t bat due to injury.

Pretty sure they would in a WC match, but safety first today.

Using substitutes now

Being a friendly they are playing Rashid at last he is a tailender.
Wouldn’t be too friendly from England if after they asked Australia if they could have a sub batting they sent in Root :grinning:

Batting style = 6 or out

Usually…

Decent workout. The first choice 11 will not be too worried about the performances of the players that came in today.

No hiding place now, it’s underway!

England bat first.

And not very well, Bairstow - quack, quack.

Looks like England will be sub 300, despite looking good for most of their innings

Good ploy to get rid of the favourite tag early on

A bit of a flourish at the end, so not a terrible score at least. Interested to see if the pitch is slightly quirky, it might be a good score yet.

First 10 overs will be key. If England can get their openers early it will be an interesting chase. Can’t afford to let de Kock and Amla to get away.

Be a rather remarkable recovery for SA now

That Stokes catch.

Can’t say I’ve ever seen a better catch in the deep.

Watch the highlights just for that, if nothing else.

Amazing. The way he instinctively knows to go with his right hand because the left wouldn’t have reached is one thing, but to get there sprinting at a 45° angle to the line of the ball? :flushed:

Did he get motm?
