Criticise my TV choice

You could buy my 55" LG OLED55B8SLC for £250 if you can collect? I bought it from John Lewis in 2019 so the guarantee is ok till 2024

If not go the biggest you can afford, you’ll quickly get bored of 48" and now I’d probably go 65"+ and I only sit about 3m from the TV.

If you can stand to wait a little bit for collection, I’ll have that?

There’s no rush as it’s been sat there for a while, only fair that Josh gets first refusal but yours otherwise.

I have no idea about TVs, but if the professional TV reviewer wants to come and collect it then I suspect that your price is more than fair

TBF he likes Naim as well though.

Thanks for that. Does it have HDMI 2.1? I tried to have a look for the specs but couldn’t find them. Given the year I’d guess not though.

And you think 55" at two meters wouldn’t be too much? I guess I can to to Currys with a tape measure and see for myself…

It’s yours, no rush give me a shout if and when you want it.

It is 2.1 but I replaced as it didn’t have eARC to go with my Sonos soundbar.

You’re better off starting a new thread with the features you want but don’t get hung up on viewing distances, go for picture quality and functionality.

Ah, I’ll want eARC as I want to get a Sonos bar, so I’ll pass. Thanks though.

I’m happy with the C1 or C2, they seem highly regarded for gaming as well as general TV watching.

If you buy it from Sonos PM me as I can give you a 15% code through my bluelight card.

The ARC soundbar is ok for films etc but I prefer the sound for general TV through the Phillips builtin speakers. The ARC tends to muddle speech and add bass to audio (then again I’m mutt & jeff)

Has just decided to lose the DLNA app in the last month for some reason that I can’t understand, straight after I repurposed the Kodi Pi that was running into it. The network connection is still there so I can only assume that some update has decided to get rid of it for some reason.

You can probably just use the Pi as a Plex server and use the Plex app on the TV. But yeah, I like simple DLNA as well tbh.

Got a Pi running OMV with a DLNA server so I would prefer not to go anywhere near Plex.
