What a decent thing to do. Nice guy!
Very nice present - that frame has been a staple winter workhorse bike for thousands of cyclist over the years-
Get some drop handlbars on it and your laughing.
Looks in amazing condition as well
It looks to be in great condition. I rode it at the weekend and itâs a massive improvement on anything Iâve owned before.
Off to the Lycra shop tomorrow.
Mamil ahoy
Just wait until you get upgraditis - you think hi-fi is bad !
Bike rides involving food are the best bike rides
What do people ue for navigating whilst cycling. Are the universal pouches that clamp onto handlebars into which a mobile phone is inserted any good or do I bite the bulet and spend ÂŁ200 on a Garmin/Wahoo/Karoo thingy?
Iâve used Garmin computers on road rides for years - they seem to work ok and can upload rides to Strava automatically if thatâs your thing. If you do MTB Iâm not sure Iâd trust a phone mount.
If you buy last yearâs model you can save a bit and youâre probably not missing anything important.
Donât know anyone who started using their phone and didnât swiftly change to a dedicated unit. Depends what youâre doing. If itâs just a few social miles phone probs suffice, if youâre looking to do more the easy access to features like speed, distance & time over and above navigation is useful.
I had a Garmin for many years, was brilliant. When it finally died while wary of stories of Garmin issues I bought one and immediately had problems, found it buggy and sent it back within the month. Bought a Hammerhead Karoo, excellent, only thing the Garmin does better is battery, if youâre looking at + 9 hr rides on a Karoo you need some battery backup
Many thanks for the replies. I use a dedicated GPS for fell walking - same sort of argument really - the dedicated unit is the right tool - unfortunately it is too big and bulky for the bicycle. I am a touring cyclist - too old and heavy for racing (was never fast enough either!). I am persuaded I shall have to get spendy.
Thanks again.
and so it starts
MVdP, Wout, Pidcock an outside chance. Tough day to start, reckon the GC wonât have enough to beat those motivated to take an early Yellow?
Well, whoâd have thought!? Team Yates!
That was some finish from the Yates brothers - a great stage so much better than that prologue nonsense.
I suspect this will be another mental three weeks of full-on racing. I love how these guys race nowadays itâs mad to think back to the days of the Sky trains.
Great first stage , double congrats to adam / simon .
Formidable!
Heâs a great sport photographer Ben and chuffed for the Cofidis team as well 15 years is a long wait !
