Escape 0. It has fancy carbon fibre forks but I don’t know if they still make them. It’s about three years old.

Stu,

Have you had a look at cycleexchange.co.uk? They are in Kingston so not far from you. Lots of good looking used bicycles at reduced prices and with warranties. I have never used them so buyer beware and all that but you might save a few quid on a decent bike and perhaps less risk than auction sites.

I bought a bike from them - very good all round - was a while ago now

Highest speed and mileage so far:

Baby steps, innit! :rofl:

Felt a good deal faster. Gaining confidence with hydraulic disc brakes. The fucker stops on a sixpence!

Don’t want to do that too often as I might get the calipers and discs dusty! :scream:

14 mile commute each way 4 times this week on knobblies.

Will fit my new wheels, tyres and brake blocks to my road bike this weekend (just in time for the rain, obviously)

Back on the road bike tomorrow!

Fortunately, my friend was able to find the cone adjustment tool I lent him 10 years ago!

Nice hubs.

They are not cosmetically perfect but after a service they are functionally good as new. The free hub sound is… unique. Has been described as like an “angry bee”. :grinning_face:

Lovely day for it, if a little breezy?

It is a little breezy; got moved about a bit by a couple of gusts!:rofl:

Nice ride :ok_hand::smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Cheers! Really enjoying riding around on this! I may have mentioned hills around here. Well they’re a lot easier and I have finally worked out which gears to use! :rofl:

Edit: Cycling bib with chamois made a massive difference; no aches and pains, innit!
