Did you get to hear it?
Yes before I stripped the guts out of it. Speaker position at knee height wasnât ideal but surprisingly nice little drivers those (Popular with Classical bods into dynamics. Certainly speedy sounding). Being in the cabinet helped - they were in very nice condition, just found the pics
Olivetti Synthesis 45 Ashtray designed by Ettore Sottsass for the Olivetti Synthesis 45 Office Furniture Collection launched in 1973.
On her way back from the last radio therapy session Hel popped into a vintage/ tat shop and this bit of glass caught her eye.
She paid ÂŁ8 thinking it was a bit of studio glass but also noticed a signature. Couple of hours research and she discovered the maker was a well known Aussie who mainly produced perfume bottles and other smallish pieces in the 1980s. Nice find and easily worth more than 10x what she paid.
Very tactile piece of glass and the colours are nicely executed.
You had me at âInside Claudia SchifferââŚ
Nice one.
Great that Hel is buying for the right reason (she likes it).
The rest is a real bonus, not just the value but researching an object is good fun in itself.
For all you furniture aficionados
Wasnât sure whether this belonged in the art or interior design thread.
Hadnât heard of it previously.
That is fascinating but oh so New York
Cheers for the link.
Elegant, technically and visually
A perfect way to describe it.
As an adult, and sick of the same ikea rug I keep dragging around from flat to flat, I came upon this today!
I was just wandering around John Lewis and spotted this hand knotted wool
Afghan in the clearance section!
Wasnât leaving the shop without it!
Gorgeous rug. What a lovely room you have created there.
Posh-looking windows opposite, thatâs not Marchmont (I think!)
Nice rug though
edit: Ours is from Ptolemy Mann
but itâs getting a bit threadbare.
Thank you mate! When I split from my ex it was super important for me to find a space I could feel like home in. I think Iâve found it
