After spraying write the same thing over the top with a Sharpie?

If it was mine, I’d just give it a wash, keep the original paint and patina. Once it’s stuffed full of records you’ll hardly notice the paintwork.

I’d prolly just clean around the writing carefully and then protect it while spraying the rest in the same Cream colour.
