Some years ago, I visited a house with one of these. Not seen one before or since!
A woman?
Get yourself to Funzie Casino, we have plenty of them in there.
I’m gonna take you up on that!
Quesion regarding ladderax it’s not a brand but a modular system made by a number of manufacturers is that right?
Made by staples and in two wood colours, two different metal coloured ladders (varying heights), and also wooden ladders.
If you’re breaking that up I’d be interested in the shelves and their support bars.
Better Homes and Gardens Decorating Book (1975).
I thought it might appeal to a few on here. I’d need a stiff drink before facing that thing.
Beautiful!
It’s a bit much
Sadly no pics, but when our house was rebuilt and extended in 1975, my mum opted for amber (orange) coloured cabinets much like those, olive-green worktops, and amber (orange) ceramic tiles with a stylised sun motif.
She would not allow the o-word to be used, it was Amber, or a clout, pick one.
At the time it seemed weapons-grade cool.
Very nice. Looks record sized…?
I’ve got 4-5 of those without the stands - They were a godsend when my room got a flood.
Trying to think of a thread to avoid shitting up the eBay thread any further. Do we need a home decor thread? Probably not.
Anyway
We had ours sanded and sealed, and some of the edges repaired where some maniac had banged carpet grippers into it. It came up very nicely but it doesn’t last forever.
Haha, Google photos tells me it was the 10th October 2014, so I guess 10 years isn’t too bad.
It was a water-based varnish so you have to get any spills off it quickly. The above damage happened while we were away
Lovely looking floor, especially over a large space
That’s pretty much what I’m planning to put down in my lounge, perhaps with a border strip around the perimeter.
I used to do all the floor sanding for the student houses we worked on in Plymouth, though they were traditional boards. Found diamond glaze to be the best varnish out of the water based ones.
Did a friends front room which was awful, had been stained with something that looked like tandoori chicken colour.Had to strip loads off to get back to the natural wood colour, then stained it in golden pine before varnish. Came out ok,but was a pig of a job, especially the edges
