DIY Audio General - stuff you're making, tips, advice sought, etc

An a quick comparison between the two. Drivers placed on the floor hence the lack of response below ~400Hz

Mmmmm…graphs.

Skip fodder.

I’ve asked for a 50% refund, the other one is mint so I’ll look to find a good matching one if I can’t get the other repaired.

Spent the day finishing up the repair on the Aleph 5s that @omsoc now has.

Did a few upgrades along the way. (Now heavier)

Just plugged speakers to test.

Disappointed.

Surely it’s possible to lay the tracks out in the shape of a big ol’ cock & balls.

Don’t give him ideas :rage:

Prototype? I hope that’s not an upgrade. We don’t ever want a BTD! :face_with_monocle:

Oops. Sorry I forgot about Jim’s.

Nice bit of soldering here.

A very quick project, a pair of Scanspeak 10F/8414G10 came up locally for sale so snapped them up!
Perfect fit in the Frugelhorn Lite cabinets, work so much better than the Veravox 3 drivers I was using before. They sound very linear through the midrange and very refined on top, I don’t think the ‘need’ a tweeter but it may help crossing over to one.
As you would expect, they lack bass below I guess 60Hz, certainly some food for thought on a future DIY project as a wide range in a F.A.S.T design crossing over to a large woofer.
