Obviously nicking ideas from Naim
He must have spotted the deliberate designed empty shelf in a Naim Fraim rack
these? I think they were Wolf von Langa, but they may also have been Pure Audio Project
WVL I’m sure I saw these on his website.
Well, the ones in front. Just noticed the larger ones behind.
The amount of space taken up here is impressive lol
Are those white boxes the injection channel?
Despite fucking up the case in numerous ways and nearly throwing it into the bin on Saturday, I resisted temptation and persevered. Wired it up on Sunday, did some testing, fixed a hum and I’ve ended up with a working 4w single ended guitar amp.
It is rather impressive tbh, articulate and as transparent as you like. I’ve had to reduce my reverb, delay and chorus pedal levels to suit. It is notably more revealing than any commercial amps I’ve owned.
It is borderline too powerfull to use at home, Volume knob as pictured is not far off the limit, especially when sitting 4 foot away from a 2-12 cab. Together they would blow the windows out with it fully cranked.
Lack of a 3 bad eq is a shame - but it is what it is. I’m going to build a bigger one - (and buy the chassis)
Side panels and a base on order.
Put a second input on the back with some extra resistance for indoor/low volume use?
It could be done, however I’ve hated on this amp enough already - cba to do any more work on it.
This looks interesting, was reading about charge coupling caps on diyaudio not long ago
Just buy the bloody Tone Scouts.
Thought you just made some crossovers?
Not happening unless I win the lottery tonight. I did offer him a p/x of the L300s and Direkts but he said it’s an £8k sale no negotiations.
Yep, should be easy enough to move all the parts over though and it is a million times neater than my hatchet job.
Bugger THAT!
What’s that smell ?
Burning.
What’s burning ?
That woman’s fingers .
VB
Classic!
Yeah, Lilac really doesn’t suit her
You need Antman for that.
