We have a new granddson born last Monday and a new nanny. He can’t feed or change nappies, has a quick sniff of little feller and lies at his side, any movement and he toddles off to tell mum she’s needed… it’s lovely to watch , so gentle around the baby. Obviously never left alone together but for a 10 stone male Bernese he’s taken on the nanny role really well.
All roads now only passable in a) tractor or b) quad Even 4x4s aren’t getting around now (I haven’t tried)
At least some seem to be enjoying it
Tomorrow we are going to visit the parents and owners of this little creature.
It is principally a visit to establish, if possible, whether the seller/owner is legit: is what they say they are.
No money will change hands, and no commitment will be made by us. We hope to receive some documentation that we can verify later.
Eyes wide open!
Is it the mothers first litter? Have they got photos of any previous litter now as adults? Will you meet the mother etc? (As well as all the other docs etc)
We spent over an hour with mother and pups today in the family home of the sellers. We saw photos of a couple of adults from the previous litter. The mother (cocker spaniel) is a lovely-natured dog.
Looks like we will confirm tomorrow that we want to go for it.
How are you going to go about choosing a name!
We have a shortlist of names we all like… not sure how we will choose.
We’ve generally just sat down and randomly shouted out name ideas as wierd and wonderful as you like until one lands with all of us. That way everyone to this day thinks they’ve named each animal!
We did that on the journey back yesterday
For months Barnaby thought he was called get down, leave or no.
