That last image! :joy:

Had a drive and then walk out to Seas End earlier, but the pub there shut its doors an hour early for lazy-DGAF staff reasons, so popped-in to a nearer not-quite-local at Risegate, called the Black Horse. There we bumped into an old friend who’d survived a recent car smash, so that was fucking excellent as she’s well on the mend, and the dogs welcomed a chance to get in the warm and sprawl all over the carpets.

Young couple with pre-teens came in - and like anyone reading, we expected nothing good - except the kids were lovely, they loved the dogs and I’ve never in all these years seen both dogs fall in love with anyone quite like they did these kids.

Max is an old boy - he’s at least 14, and for all that he’s game enough to leap into the back of a bastard great big pickup, he’s pretty laid back about almost all else - but honest to god I felt heartless not letting him and Tara go home with the kids! They were besotted.

I’m a jaded old cunt, but it bought a sentimental-old-fool tear to my eye to see how happy the four were together for an hour or so, and how gentle and respectful both dogs and kids were.

That’s a heartwarming story for an election-rigged Sunday

Ziggy’s the same breed and colour as Waffle Dog off of CBBC so we often get youngsters shouting “that’s Waffle Doggy!” at us.

Dogs just seem to bring out the best in (nearly) everyone and I’d have hundreds of the buggers if I could!

Well put. They’re a sort of quality-test of human personalities :ok_hand: (Phobics aside - they can’t help it.)

I always have 2, if inevitably you lose one there is still one in the house.

I couldn’t imagine life without a dog in the house.

If I had to bet I’d put the left on first

Buddy is very happy with his giant new bed. He slept like a log last night compared to his usual tossing and turning around 6am which often wakes me up. A very good result all round.

Noah went for the cut this morning. I know I said Thursday but I lied to him so he wouldn’t be anxious today.

As well as the new bed, I also bought Buddy his first raincoat. We had a trial with it this morning and he seems quite happy in it. It won’t be suitable for the park as he’ll tear it to shreds as he sprints through all the bushes. It’ll be good for walks on the lead though.
