Hel has no shame!

Had to share this with the Doggos as it may amuse or bring a tear.
On Friday Milly’s home mobile groomer decided that Milly wasn’t strong enough for a groom, so did a little trim no charge and said she thought now simply doing palliative care, as she is on her way to the Rainbow Bridge and she needed to take it easy. I knew that this was coming.
So last night made her comfortable in the dining room and said good night. She had always slept on my bed or in the bedroom of late. But I now decided no more stairs even with assistance. So I went off to bed feeling very strange about the whole thing. She has never slept on her own at night before.
I lay in bed listening to the radio as usual and half an hour later there’s a knocking on the door. On opening the door there she was tail wagging. Blind, arthritic and a stroke she had made her way out of the downstairs room into the kitchen to the corridor, up the stairs along the landing and knocked on the door with her head - all without help. No way was she going to spend the night on her own. I just lost it. What a determined brave little fighter. I have noticed that she’s getting extra clingy with me, difficult when we both have mobility issues!
So tonight we’re back to routine; today she had a bone and she can listen to Radio 4 extra comedy with me. This is all so desperately sad- but what a dog.

I am very sad to report in Milly passed today.
She was a fantastic doggie and thanks to the many heart likes and posts. I’m heartbroken.

Oh Laurence, I’m so sorry to read this, they really do take a huge chunk of our hearts with them when they go. The only possible small consolation is knowing you gave a lovely dog a great life and home. {hugs}
I’m so very sorry, I remember her as a pup, a gorgeous little thing, your memories can never be taken. She obviously adored you, take pride in your relationship, not everyone can achieve such devotion. Thinking of you
