“Other than the DX45 buzzing issue”
I did and now @Spider has it. Very nice amp, the one I had was the reference version.
It was used at the Yorkshire bake-off . Sounded fine.
I just looked at the pictures, didn’t notice that
I remember these from the past - I went to buy one direct from the Manufacturer they sounded fantastic.
I had a home demo for two weeks.
However when reading up I found they were very poorly made unreliable and run on unusually high voltage.
Mine has had some maintenance done by Valvebloke which has helped hugely with any reliability issues.
It does run on high voltage but thats part of its charm
I think it sounds great and have never felt the need to replace it. In the winter time its better than a log burner at warming the front room.
If the refurb has been done well then it’s a lot of amp for the money - poor mans Ongaku.
Thinking, but won’t.
Do it! They’re lovely.
Aye! I’d love one.
Better than an IO1?
Of course.
Would be a tough call, but yes, I would say so.
Will probably hold out for a Gold then.
Wise move.
never heard the ls100 , wonder how they compare ?
I had one for a bit while my preamp was being fixed and really liked it, much more valve sounding than the 36.5
Ive had both too. Less definition and warmer sounding than the 36.5. but the optional phono and DAC boards make it more versatile. Both very nice preamps.
