Mike Pickwell?
That’s the one

Yep, he fully refurbished a Denon DCD-3300 that I bought from him.
Every time I stumble across Hart Audio’s stuff, the prices get more laughing-academy -
For anyone unacquainted, they’re 1990s Tannoy drivers (presumably robbed from battered cheapies), in an undersized Scandyna-style housing made of cast bronze (or silver, or gold, if you’re willing to front-up the gibbering-lunacy purchase price…).
He also fronts a Denon DL-103 in a crude-looking sodalite (stone resembling lapis lazuli) body for about £10,000, last time I saw one.
Wonder if he’s ever sold a pair of the speakers…?
How fucking much
I think last time we were pointing-and-laughing he wanted £50,000, originally (quite a few years ago) he was mocked for asking £9,000…
Anything more than the scrap value of the bronze is a joke…
One of my favorire lines form the listing.
“…have won plaudits in well respected Hi-Fi publications including Hi-Fi Plus, Hi-Fi World and also by Hi-Fi Choice, where the AP Bronze Loudspeakers were given a rapturous review by acclaimed High End HiFi Reviewer Jason Kennedy who claimed the AP Bronze Loudspeakers possessed “Audio Nirvana”.”
Please tell me someone here has this review
From Avs forum
They look like a gold turd folded in half
I’ve seen quite a few reviews on these and others models where the reviewers rate his speakers
There’s a Jason Kennedy review of Hart’s ‘D&W Sonix’ in HiFi+ starting at p34 here
“… it’s not a speaker for everyone but it’s significantly prettier than its predecessor …”
Which, despite the usual epithet, is polished.
Another cliche disproven!
Wonder why so many people mistrust hifi publications…?
doesn’t help that Jason Kennedy is a foo shilling bellend
Paging @shrink
Thanks!
But I’ve decided to quit trying to make “high end” work for now and I’ve just settled on getting rid of the lot and clean slating it with some budget boxes.
Watch this space
Heybrook TT2, AI Alto and JPW AP3’s work a treat. Could buy the lot for less than £800 on a good day.
I just got a pair of rogers ls6a on eBay for £200 with stands
And they sound flippin magic
