Now includes a Schitt passive pre. I can pick up as itâs reasonably close to Derby if anybody wants to buys it.
Doesnât include the Dual Concentric Compression drivers.
Does include the same Kappa 12s that I used.
Rather larger than SH50s by the look of them.
SH96 size.
Wonder why they are selling them
Who knows - toooo big?
Getting out of the PA game?
Bought or made them for a project that never happened?
They want to stay married?
My Mrs loves a big horn
50" W X 20" H X 20" D
This guys is not far from me, he works with PA gear
Doesnât say anything about crossovers.
Iâm guessing done in DSP - wonder what they used and how the Freq resp / phase resp would measure - can be redone if necessary with enough time and sound engineering dedication.
He used JBL 2447 compression drivers, and blew them up.
I donât know if he ever had them up and running, properly.
Hmm,
The JBL2447 specsâŚ
The 12" kappas would normally play higher than 500Hz but not sure of the sound quality, or if the acoustic XO of that horn would allow them to go high enough to meet a straight forward compression driver.
In the SH50 they only need to go to 325Hz.
The JBL 2447 says 500Hz, on a 2nd order Iâm guessing. Try to get lower and yeah youâd blow them up at PA vols.
Hence my thinking theyâd have used a dual concentric MF/HF driver, but that adds complexity and cost - could still be blown upđ
Now reduced to ÂŁ600
Think thatâs quite a good price with the arm. I paid ÂŁ525 for a PT1 with no arm and thought it was fantastic, that thing prompted me to buy the Anni.
The one with the PU3 arm that I owned eventually sold for ÂŁ450, but I had to deliver it to Reading for that.
