Wayne needs to get some more and go full 11.4 then.

My lovely turntable I built not sure I sold it for that :flushed:

They look scamtastic unfortunately. Main picture the same, both sellers have no previous selling history.

Shame because one pair is almost half what Wayne paid for his.

Anyway from pictures they perhaps look in less good condition and the pair I’ve bought I’ve some confirmation they are working etc.

Free skinflakes, lashings of hot-melt on the bodgy partsbin L-C networks AND everything bouncing-around on random untwisted wire runs? What more can Sir possibly want?!

Oh, and to not have the cheapskate Modushop 3mm front cover.

Highly optimised point to point wiring

I see your choc-block and I raise you

But it’s amazing and legendary…

Probably sounds nice if you have sufficiently sensitive speakers :ok_hand:

That’s a ‘Southdown’ cabinet originally designed for a Leak setup including a Stereo 20, or perhaps even a Stereo 50 (hence the large ventilation louvres in the back)

(scan from here http://ukhhsoc.torrens.org/makers/Leak/VarislopeStereo/Leaflet/Page2.jpeg).

It looks like it might have been cut about a bit to squeeze the 301 in. I see there are also documents for a Decca Professional arm which might have fitted better alongside the 301.

Old cabinet "hacked to accept newer kit’. It’s a tight squeeze in there ergonomically speaking to get at the On off leaver over a spiky dust bug and cabinet wall. The trouble with these old consoles is the amps were often placed in the underside (bottom) The heat generated (Not to mention poor resonance control) over the years bakes the turntable lubrication and all rubber isolators / idler etc etc. Stand alone enclosed plinths preserve turntables much better (and sound better) There is little to no value in the console itself sadly.

Fancy owning some of Chick Corea’s album collection ?

I’m quite chuffed that I already have quite a few of the albums :ok_hand:

Some big pieces in there from a strong seller. It takes balls, not to mention a lot of work, to run a curated 600+ piece one week auction.

It is an amazing listing - I was salivating looking through it :grinning:
