eBay stuff (Part 2)

They were up for £27k a couple of days ago. I think the seller is smoking cr@ck, all his stuff is way overpriced

Well shit, any reason why I shouldn’t hop on the train and pick this up?

That seems like beer money. I wonder what retail was.

Buy it if you hate music and / or yourself.

No, silly Billy, stick with the 33/303 plan.

There was a time when I was this >< close to buying the original Devialet at around £10k but if I’m realistic, that version of me is no longer available.

Remind me not to go to the pubs you drink at!

Don’t buy the Expert unless you are planning to use Roon or connect a streamer to it physically. The non Pro Expert models don’t have network streaming so don’t support UPnP, airplay, bluetooth etc.

Devialet have stopped supporting the air plugin and pretty much given up on all the Expert range now.

I’ve got a Devialet Expert and a pair of speakers, it’s about as simple a system I could have and it sounds great for what I want now.

On the subject of unsupported bricks,

Had loads of those way back when.

The design language is a bit different these days.

As is the C-Suite…

Lecson HL1 4 Way Loudspeakers Speakers Vintage Hifi Audax Large | eBay?

I’ve often wondered how they were configured having never seen a pair ‘undressed’. Still not much wiser after seeing those pics. Was it a front loaded bass, horn Mid and tweeter?

Yes - the tweeter was fixed in posn and the mid horn was rotatable
Never saw how the bass was configured - Used it with a consonace parallel single ended 300b - was brilliant sound

Does anybody know the owner? It looks like an early “high gain” version as input valves are different?

It is a high gain version, which looks like a bunch of Living Voice mods with all the bypass caps.

Absolute steal at current price

£500 is a bargain, think I paid £800 for the ones I had 5yrs ago and was really impressed with them. About the only full range single driver I’ve had that actually has ‘some’ bass

I really wanted to, but I couldn’t make them work in my tiny room.

Top end is a mite rough’n’ready, but still better than most whizzer-cones, and agree, the bass is surprisingly good.
