It was a Bluebell Audio amp based on the classic circuit from Japan using 6SN7-6SN7-300B built using Hammond iron.
Ron supplied the new wooden case and transformer covers, and i designed the metal panels and rebuilt the whole thing in the new chassis with a few tweaks and parts upgrades along the way.
Sounded great, and fuelled the thinking that led onto the Model 5 and Model 8 power amps.

Yeah …chancers …,.I fell off the multistrada a few years ago needed a rear brake pedal. Checked eBay …several in various states of distress AVE price £70 odd quid …checked new price at dealer £60 odd (with a smidge of discount) …
Please tell me I’d be stupid to buy this and it’s not worth it.

Did the designers of the top and bottom half ever actually talk to each other?
I’ve never quite got on board with the whole top loader CD thing.
I have always felt that is was about cost cutting rather than sonic benefit.

I can confirm what he said about servicing and upgrades to be true, and looking at my notes from 2020 suggest it has 2 x 5687 for the audio circuit, a 5Y3 valve rectifier, silver wired audio circuit, yellow Hovland MusiCaps on the output, and Noble volume and balance pots

The main problem (aside from the price) is that a number of key components (probably not-least, the laser head) will be unobtainium-in-excelsis at any price, at which point you become the proud owner of a large and effective paperweight or doorstop…

Thought I recognized the dealers name “Studio Incar” that is Carl who used to be Shakey on the Wam.
Looks like he’s doing HiFi as well as car systems now.
