You could go with these from the same seller for the sheltered accomodation vibe.

Iām not sure there is a pair of speakers made that hasnāt been suggested at this point
Bang for buck has to be 10-20 year old triangles. Very non offensive look wise and very easy to drive
Cube?
Emporium certainly do have a vast array.
Hifi logic; looking for speakers, so just bought an amp and tuner
Itās taken me a while to identify what I donāt like about my current set-up, being a relative new comer to this game. Current speakers have a midrange hump, typical of the modern Sonus Faber house sound.
Recent listening turns out I prefer the sound of speakers such as Snell A / Audio Note J / Shahinian Obelisks / Fyne 702.
Just need to find something that fits with the modest proportions of my living room, which is 3 x 4.5m.
Not heard any Triangles, so will seek some out for a demo.
If anyone does want to deal with Emporium, deal off of Ebay to haggle a much better deal, and ideally visit the Norfolk site to see and hear the kit. So long as you arrange in advance they can be perfectly accommodating.
They do buy a LOT of kit and donāt often check it themselves, so get caught out with duffers sometimes, and I must admit will cheerfully sell same to the unwary.
If itās biggish bucks, do visit.
Anyone suggested the Neat Petite Classics that @Tons_of_fun just reviewed jizzed all over such was his enthusiasm?
Yay ! You got them then ?
One step further on the path to multiway horns!
Fingers crossed, 7hr round trip coming up!
Anyone live near Hartlepool?!
Not any more but I know plenty who do!
Iām in deepest, darkest Sussex if you want to listen. No idea where you are though
Stratford upon Avon, so a fair distance, but thank you. Seems there arenāt many older models around for sale, which is probably a good sign.
And me from you Nick - lovely though
If he likes bass Iām not sure Treeongles are the right choice.
@spenagio I wonder whether a trip to Malvern or Stoke to audition hORNS Aria II might be worth a shot?
If you want ādustbin-lid-in-a-Corsaā bass, then Iād agree, but if you want fast, tight bass that integrates well in smaller rooms, not so much. You just have to match speaker size to room - and, admittedly, that generally means buying bigger than your wife wantsā¦
