Just had a quote for solar panels and a battery. Seems a bit spendy. The projected payback they indicate is 10 years. Will be getting another quote.

I doubt any of the old tarriffs will compare but my experience is that they are a decent company to deal with

About normal for a solar/battery combo at the moment, I would have thought.
About 6k more, than a year ago.

Ā£2400 install sounds high
This is on the high side for doing an existing install where a cherry picker is needed etc. For a new install, thatās extortionate.
Canāt comment on the scaffolding as itās particular to you.
I would also go for the larger 9.5kW battery.

Can you fill the battery with cheap electricity overnight? Is the software any good at sorting out likely power needs, likely generation etc?
Yes, you have full control. Solar forecasting is in development but you can do it today with Home Assistant and some scripts.

That amount of medals for Muttley donāt come cheap.

and can be installed on a Raspberry Pi
The weather appears to have improved to the point where the solar panels run more than just the LEDs on the inverter.
Possibly a good job, we had the first Octopus saving period notification for 5-6pm today. Not that it will make any difference for us given that we havenāt used any grid electricity outside od the 4 hour window for ages.

It supports it but you have to request the installer builds the circuit when itās being installed. Itās a lot of Ā£Ā£ and fuckery with auxillary CUs and such. I didnāt bother.
The myenergi battery is a rebadged KSTAR setup. Theyāre charging a lot for what will presumably be some integration with their car charger and diverter and for it to show up in the app.
If you want maximum convenience from a single supplier and are prepared to pay for it I suppose it will have some merit.
Probably time to drag it over here.
Slight eyebrow at the concept of auxiliary CUs for the batteries? Obviously you need a massive one to cope with all of the circuits that get involved if you electrify everything, but unless you are putting some circuits outside of the battery scope you could have them all on one?
Still early days yet? But yes
Doesnāt really work with a battery but we signed up anyway.
