It’s the first thing I do. I have no idea why they do that. Unless it’s for those with OCD who can’t have beans touching anything!

I guess the little pots are convenient when sticking the beans in the microwave, which is how many places heat them up.

Personally, I’d sooner have beans zapped in the microwave than stewed forever on the stove, but as long as they aren’t cold, I’ll live.

Is there a picture of the assembled plateful?
Unfortunately not as I was just heading out but the stainless serving tray was the ‘plate’ not the actual plate to the right. 
As an aside, he ate 3 x 300g sirloins for his 16th birthday dinner a few years ago.
