Great use of lentils as is dal. Pies are not a good use.

Nail. Head. Lentils have no place in a proper pie. Cheese and onion is a decent approach to a no meat baked item though.

Agreed, do like a cheese and onion pie chips and ketchup. Mum used to a great one and her chips were always done in dripping.
I quite like a Bombay potato pie, or a Caribbean curried vegetables pie. No lentils (in pies).

Chicken, smoked bacon and mushroom pasties (and a few more rustic rolls)
