Gigs I'm going to. The Gyroscope diaries

@htm_1968 I don’t know how much time you spend on campus Ólan with one thing and another , but there are some decent free lunchtime concerts coming up at The Tung Auditorium

and if you’re not in work you could just jump the 86 bus

Thanks Jon. The Tung is right next to where I work so I’ll try and attend some of those timetable permitting.

This is the lineup for my day at Austin City Limits , I saw Kingfish Ingram play when he was 12 years old in Mississippi, other than that I’ll need to do some research to decide who to watch.

If you’re there early, Jessie Ware :+1:

Thirty Seconds … guy seems like a bit of a dick

Sha Sha by Ben Kweller is a fantastic album though long gone from my regular rotation. No idea what his later stuff is like though. Went to see him mid 2000s and really enjoyed the gig.

At an alternately scorchy and breezy Field Day. The amount of talented young people is really good.

TSHA with Lexi guesting on vocals. Nineties and noughties big guns - Bonobo, Fever Ray, Uncle Aphex - out later.

Bonkers and brilliant.

Aced it for me. I was expecting noughties chill out, but two keyboards, guitar, bass, drums, horn section, guest vocalists → massive sound.

Your fat old giffer at the scene accidentally got wedged front and centre and it all got a bit exciting with 10,000 people (25k cap) half my age.

Fitbit tells me that I’ve won some kind of badge for doing more exercise than I’ve ever done in a day :man_facepalming:

Fair play on the exercise badge but watch out for the cops. Masturbating around girls half your age is frowned upon these days.

One that I would go to if I were in that London, but I’m not.

Looks interesting. Sadly SE16 sounds like it’s close to me, but it’s, err, not.

I’ll have to get down there one day - they’ve had quite a few concerts on that I’ve liked. They often stream them too, so I try to catch them online. Seems an interesting venue, with an admirable events policy.

I would go to this, but it clashes with PJ Harvey at the Roundhouse :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

God I would love to go to that… I’ll be feckin’ teaching though. I wonder if Gilmour will turn up?

The thought did cross my mind. I would lay money on Youth and Gaudi being in attendance - they seem to operate as a bit of a posse.

Ooh, @PapaLazarou and I will be there also.

As ever, keep an eye open for a tall silver-haired woman and her misshapen sidekick.

Let’s hope it turns out better than last time. That ended up being my last pre-covid gig and Mark Lanegan died :grimacing:
