How did you like the film & have you seen Bait?
I see what you did there u twats
Just wait until next week: four-dayer coming up.
I liked the cinematography and sound a lot.
Still not sure overall whether it was “good” or just distilled arch hauntology.
Again, no, I haven’t seen Bait. I’ve read and seen a lot about it. There seems to be a lot of noise around the guy at the moment.
Probably more buzz down here in the SW where a quirky new film movement is evolving. There’s another called Magpie (not Mark Jenkin) on the way.
I thought Bait was very good, I’m with @Gyroscope on Enys Men . I went home and re-read the reviews and got the feeling of the emperor’s new clothes, same with Men and The Lighthouse. They didn’t live up to the “hype”/expectations for me.
So a couple of bands have dropped out from the festival I’m going to next weekend.
One of the replacements is Gnome.
Who?
Gnome is a 3-piece stoner rock band from Antwerp
Of course they are.
I’m not saying that Belgium is a small place but I share a surname with the front man. We’re probably second cousins or something.
Context: when the going gets tough, the Belgians stick on funny little red hats.
That photo says more about Belgian ABV averages than any other.
Love Belgium. They decided to be best at chips and beer and nailed it.
Bonus points for having roads so bad it makes you feel good about our own crater-bound abominations.
Actually taken in a club in Berkeley Square.
Very early days Panerai rep for the UK needed to burn his PR budget before the end of the year.
Several Belgians were happy to take one for the team.

From the eyes of the bloke in the middle, I might ask what on?
Straight as a die Edinburgh accountant, just wonky eyes
Tomorrow is definitely Carlton Melton…
I’m booked in for beers on arrival on Friday so realistically Carlton Melton at 21:40 is the first thing I’m aiming for
A treat in store Sat Nov 4th at a new venue for me - Tesla recording studio in Sheffield (next door to the excellent Sheaf View pub!).
Local folky trio Auka followed by Norwegian jazz quartet Aadal.
Tonight I’m going to the amazing ever-expanding bill of Kill! The Icon, Minas (), Big Special and Benefits at Oslo, Hackney.
There’s either going to be some drum kit sharing, or frantic running around between sets. Although having said that, I think Kill! etc. are now full Adam and the Ants double-drummered.
I didn’t realise until seeing them live this week that Cult Of Luna are also double-drummered.
Was thinking of forming a cover band: Cull Of Tuna.
