Gigs I'm going to. The Gyroscope diaries

Lovely set from Iona Lane this evening, had a chat after and bought her new EP.

Should be good

3rd time I’ve seen em!

Ah, you’d likely know that then.

Meanwhile, my phone is going crackers with mail, notifications from DICE etc. saying “Shellac! Shellac are playing!”

Yes, I know, but we’re trying to see how iffy hearing fares* with Sunn O))) on Monday before buying a ticket.

* not well, I suspect

As usual, euphoric and just beyond good.

I assume that this bill will be heading elsewhere too.

Either Sunn O))) just hit the brown note or that cabbage I had with my lunch is making a comeback.

Sunn O))) live was something different. It felt like performance art rather than a gig. My whole being vibrated while lights danced among the smoke. There was something cult-like about the whole experience. I enjoyed it immensely.

Sweet.

Tomorrow at the Barbican.

I’m not sure that it’s an entirely appropriate venue but I’ll take whatever I can get.

Take earplugs.

Already got them sitting out on the dining table (random crap ghetto) :+1:

Saw this advertised in the pub the other night! I’m a fan of his work, so have booked a couple of tickets for that.

Also excited for another chance to see Nile Frahm at the Barbican this summer.

Prefer Nils Rodgers myself.

I spent much of my youth in Sneaky Pete’s.

The concept of it being used as a venue kind of boggles me - IIRC it’s little more than a corridor

Is it worth going along early to see these guys, whoever they are?

No idea, we timed our arrival to miss it…

It was also sold out, so I’ll be at the Glasgow one!
