A bit, and some classical picking
So as @Sheva correctly sussed out, tonight was Einstürzende Neubaten at the Elbphilharmonie.
No photography during the performance so you’ve been spared my usual fuzzograms but I still took a couple of surreptitious shots to try to convey the space.
Outstanding band, outstanding set, mind-blowing venue, major bucket list item ticked off.
I’d forgotten that they’re metal bashers, so pretty much everything (including a shopping trolley) got hit with sticks.
Didn’t they take their pneumatic drill for a spin around the venue this evening?
Sadly not.
It’s healthy and safety gone mad I tell ye.
An evening of blistering guitars tonight, the Fredi Gebhardt trio playing gypsy jazz and related stuff. Amazing talent!
A really tight trio
Definitely. Rack of soil pipes getting blasted with a high pressure air hose and hey! it turns out that you can hit them with sticks too
I suspect you could have observed a similar effect each morning at Lopwell post the first coffee of the day…

Obviously Willy Vlautin himself is a bit behind the times
Ryley Walker plus acoustic guitar tonight. Really enjoyed that. Not my usual gig. He’s a funny chap too.
The Belgian dates are at AB and De Roma in Antwerp, but ultimately we can walk to the Brixton Academy.
Waiting for this to get going
Now in swing with Mr Boden
and two of the Wilsons
and finale with all performers
The Saltburn club also changed its name from Conservative to Con. More fitting, I thought.
The Lewes Con Club is short for Lewes Constitutional Club
Not sure about it’s political history
He needs a seance first
I think it is
