Don’t think they are expecting him to turn up ![]()
Well, we’re in the cemetary so that’s a start
I stand corrected
Great impromptu gig tonight whilst staying over in Newcastle. Omni at The Cluny. Think Devo mixed with Pavement, very tight! Met the frontman after the gig, was going to suggest they rename to Tight Fit, but being from the US of A thought the reference may have gone amiss…
The Cluny and Cluny 2 are great for gigs.
Did you go to the ship beforehand?
That looks like a cracking venue.
Unfortunately no time for pre-beers - on a work trip trying to capture the city at night in a quick photo study. Love the place, have to say
Bought tickets for Massive Attack at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool on 29th November. Same venue as the recent Labour Party conference……
Hopefully Liz Fraser is still touring with them.
John Grant, Liverpool Phil on Nov 2nd.
Currently at the Fox and Firkin for the last outdoor gig of the year, African Head Charge - early kick off.
That’s definitely Gaudi on stage, he’s local anyway.
Adrian Sherwood behind Bonjo? Yeah, got to be, really.
Can’t wait
The Orb and Ozric Tentacles have announced a gig in Liverpool. Might well attend this.
I keep thinking about that but I haven’t been to the arena since Neil Young in 2016, the only time the sound has been decent ime
I’ve only been for comedy, which was a freebie. I have arenas but hopefully it’ll be worth it. Tickets are, relatively speaking, quite reasonable. We are standing as I refuse to go up into the seats….
First gig in a long while, 8pm sharp apparently
The The. Saw them 31 years ago, the demographic reflects that!
Any good ?
Excellent, played the new album first, good tunes, fairly laconic, nothing to raise the roof. Break, then launched into a full set of the old stuff, so many great tunes sounding remarkably fresh. Armageddon Days and Heartland could have been written yesterday. Troubling to think I last saw them in 93
