Wandered down to see Kuunatic at the Exchange. Nice walk as the sun went down.

Great solo gig tonight from Eliza Marshall (her first solo, despite many years in Ranagri and with others). Looking forward to the 3rd EP track and later album.

I understand that they are often second ‘jobs’ but how on earth do these musicians keep at it with audiences of, quite literally, dozens ?

Either with a steady day job (often teaching) or by being in several bands at once. I saw Michael Biggins, an excellent pianist / accordionist, with Iona Fyfe the other night - Michael is in at least 2 other bands as well, and is constantly on the road. Being a session musician, as Eliza is, also helps a lot.

Tonight’s audience was probably about 25-30. Eliza is not well known to lay audiences, but about half the audience were musicians themselves - they know how good she is.
