Gigs I'm going to. The Gyroscope diaries

Just back from a delightful evening with Auka at the Mandala cafe.

I so wish the bands I’m into did such low key stuff :sad_but_relieved_face:

They are certainly the sort of venues that I prefer, esp. for acoustic instruments. Really nice feel to the gig.

90 min of excellent music in a lovely venue, with a pot of curry, for £17.60. I’d happily pay more for it (bought a couple of CDs to help out the band, and some drinks to help the cafe)

As far as stadium gigs go… Oasis tonight were something else. not one person remained seated from the moment they came on stage till they wrapped it up. 70000 people on their feet singing along from start till finish.

The atmosphere was unparalleled. You might hate that pair of wallopers or hate the music but fcking hell it was an experience.

I’m on a real run with missing stuff.

It seems that Morcheeba, DJ Shadow and Unkle were in Crystal Palace bowl last night :man_facepalming:

I think I saw that line-up being advertised, would have absolutely loved to go, but logistics just weren’t feasible.

It’s 10 minutes up the road from me.

4h 40m for me, which means adding in a hotel as well.

Well I had it down as at least hip hop tonight (it’s clearly audible as I’m having a vape in the back yard).

It seems that it’s Busta Rhymes and Redman.

This should be excellent

Pleased to report that despite zooming in I still have no idea who the support acts are.

Don’t know about the other one…

Gesündheit.

Danke !

Which now clashes with Amenra at the Fleece.

Metal peril in Bristol that night!

They play the Scala the previous night, which means all sorts of conflicts for me too.

A friend of mine has tickets for both. Double-gigging.
