This was obviously before mobile phones so when he eventually phoned his mum the next day she was absolutely frantic because she’d heard about it on the radio and convinced herself that he was one of them

I was there too. I was literally right there at the front in the mosh pit, with people being hauled out around me. My feet weren’t on the ground.. I just moved with a compressed sliding wave of people in the mud, with Guns & Roses looking bewildered, metres in front of me. I’ve never forgotten it.

I think I finally worked out yesterday afternoon why I got grabbed by security.
I said at the time that the guys fighting were twice my size and half my age but I reckon they’d simply been sent out looking for someone in a hat (the only similarity between me and fighty-boy).
I guess they’re not paying for rocket scientists.
Last night was Tamsin Elliott, touring to promote her new album The Meeting Tree.
She swapped between harp, accordion and flute with accompaniment from Rowan Elliott on 5 string fiddle and Sid Goldsmith on cittern.
A nice evening of tunes, after a good support set from Lucy Huzzard.

Family outing to see Bahamas at Union Chapel. My daughters have grown up on this guys songs, so to hear them solo acoustic in such a special place, well, it was a big deal.
