Tempted, tempted
Did you get there ?
Nah, too knackered when we got back from Woodstock, plus I have seen both multiple times. I prioritised nodding off on the sofa instead.
Talking to a mate ( who’s going to see Barry Manilow next year) “ I’m a bit reluctant to pay £70-odd to see Emmylou Harris on her farewell tour “ , “if you don’t pay it you won’t see her again “ . £70-odd paid ![]()
Got tickets for me and @Kevin the other day…
Sessa at the strange brew in Bristol 10th Feb
Thats an enormous shame. Suspect my dad is familiar with some of the artists, He attends a weekly folk night other side of the Pennines at Oddfellows Middleton. Although only to listen.
The Orb were The Orb
Dreadzone were brilliant.
Lowen the other night were outstanding
Iffy photo but probably captures the vibe best
Highly rate Dreadzone live
A classical Sunday afternoon with Uni Sheff students. The programme appealed to me:
Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man
Borodin’s In the Steppes of Central Asia
Smetana’s Vltava from Ma Vlast
Alberga’s Mantle from Symphony no.1
Beach’s Symphony in E Minor 'Gaelic’
Edit later: the Copland and Alberga didn’t happen, but still a decent 2 hours.
Great pic
Claire wouldn’t let me try and peel it off the wall… ![]()
We went to the local ‘Acoustic Cafe’ on Saturday.
4 acts all good but two particularly notable.
Marianne Joyce has a lovely voice & clever, self written songs
Jon Fazal, a fine fingerpicking guitarist and singer with a new, tape recorded, all analogue lp out called Insomniac’s Ball
It being Belgium vs. Amenra, three consecutive nights at AB sold out very quickly.
Tickets for OLT Rivierenhof went on sale at 11.00am CET and 20 seconds later there were 730 people in the queue in front of me (for 2100 capacity).
Anyway, sorted now. I’ll think about logistics later.
Immediately made to look amateurish by Mogwai + Craven Faults at the Royal Albert Hall
Still got tickets tho.
Speculatively sent this across to the wife
and got a “fuck yes” which I was most definitely not expecting. So I guess we’re going.
