Gigs I'm going to. The Gyroscope diaries

“…brilliant, with a skill in thick doom riffs and stoned-psych bits”

“Combining impossibly groovy stoner metal with a fantastical amphibian concept grounded in eco-conservatism”

For £10, I am all in. Ribbit.

Mogwai 25/3, Albert Hall.

White Lies at Roundhouse last night. They did back to back shows sat and sun and it seems that we got the better end of the deal as the set featured some stuff they apparently rarely play. They still can’t write lyrics for toffee but it was a brilliant show.

Dennis Bovell’s “tribute to King Tubby”.

Basically the London dub all-stars letting rip for about three hours. Great fun.

After falling out with the cunts that are Ticketmaster several times trying to grab tickets for this ATG miraculously appeared to have two free seats for the stalls in the playhouse. Fcking result, he’s phenomenal live.

Transglobal Underground at the Fox and Firkin, but it’s the day before 3 days of Desertfest London.

Feh, YOLO and £12.50 isn’t going to break the bank.

On a smaller scale, I am seeing Rival Consoles the day before Howling Giant

I quite fancy seeing Rival Consoles. He’s been pretty much my favourite electronic artist the last couple of years. And Ben Lukas Boysen supporting at the London one, who I also really like.

A saxy evening yesterday

A friend ended up with 2 surplus tickets for the Theatre Royal in Plymouth last night.

2:22 A ghost story.

Written by Danny Robins of #Uncanny fame. Pretty entertaining, funny & tense. A few jump scare moments and a cool twist at the end.

SiL mentioned that Alex had said he was doing the music for a showing of something called “Dark Star”.

Turns out it’s that Dark Star.

Free entry, 15 minute walk away, Thursday

Love Dark Star but chasing the inflatable alien does go on a bit.
