It looks like I’m not going to see Amenra in Antwerp in July.
I think today is the first day I can book the Eurostar for the dates and that comes to £104 return, which is fine. However a quick look at hotels shows that everything is £750 for three nights and Airbnb is £500 for something shit to £1100 for fairly central
I don’t know what’s going on but I think I can spend that kind of money better eleswhere.
Also something else I was thinking of going to in Geneva in October turns out to be £400 for a ticket and the reservation form asks if I’ll be taking part in the group Porsche drive to the venue
It’s something I used to attend in the noughties and was pretty chaotic but I don’t think it’s aimed at the likes of me any more.
Being an old cantankerous bastard it takes a lot to remove my arse from the music room on a Friday evening, especially to traipse into the city. This century I think once every five years is not far off the mark.
Celtic connections revue…Rhianne Downey, Guy Garvey and some brilliant artists I hadn’t heard of before.supported by Roddy Heart and the lonesome fire and a sixty piece orchestra. Fantastic night
Thank you but perversely the event turned out to be a spanner in the works of the whole year. Since I’ve bitten the bullet and decided to cancel, at least three other events have become possible.
I felt guilty that I was inconveniencing my buddy and forcing him to sell his ticket but it turned out I’d paid for both of us. I told him that if he sold the tickets on the (state monopoly?) resale site he could eat or drink the proceeds but he says he’s looking forward to selecting some vinyl for me
Chalk holds max of 900. I have been to plenty of gigs there.
Resident do many launch shows, normally in their shop, but they use Chalk for the bigger artists (who are doing launch shows).
That there pigeon’s from my neck o’ the woods! Sadly, all of the houses on that street were demolished in the sixties along with a large number of Tudor pubs, buildings and at least one church during the building of the “ring road” which wasn’t completed until 2004
