Gigs I'm going to. The Gyroscope diaries

Voivod were very good, as usual, and played a selection of their well known stuff.

Midnight were terrible. Avoid.

Missed the first act for Dad-taxi reasons.

Next gig in a month’s time. Missed their last one at The Pav last year so

Bring It On

I’ve also been bought an early, or late -depending on which way you look at it - birthday present by Mrs 68 :star_struck:

Last night was Katie Spencer, just back from a European tour

supported by Ivor Game, who writes whimsical little songs.

@Waxy

I’m going for the Rough Trade East one.

Cheers. I have seen them a few times now and the last time I was a bit bored tbh. Didn’t rate their last album either.

Got stage times for this on Saturday

It’s predicted to be 27°C so I’ll have to pick my battles. However I like Sulk Rooms and I like Warrington Runcorn. First world problems.

Two types of American music - last night was Dave Mills crooning through the Great American Songbook

and this evening Bob Hall (anyone remember the Savoy Brown Blues Band?) and Hilary Blythe with a lot of boogie woogie

Big fan of savoy brown, nice

Not going, but…

Norman Jay was supposed to playing the Fox and Firkin in Lewisham this afternoon. Unfortunately he has been taken ill.

So his mates Jazzie B and Bill Brewster have stepped in. It sounds like nobody wants a refund :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Same venue but very different set up

Previous owner of my house, Miller Anderson, played in Savoy Brown. Though not sure if the time line crossed with your man.

The band was pretty much a revolving door of personnel. Bob was in early on, and had departed well before Miler Anderson joined.

I am not sure that Wiki is totally correct .As you say it was a bit of a revolving door. Miller told me that he was in the band a few times.

I would guarantee that they knew each other though.

All Them Witches were phenomenal - one of the best gigs I’ve seen

Club in Hackney on Friday, 1pm-10pm outdoor event with zero shade on Saturday.

I think I/we will be calling it on the day but I suspect tickets will be going in the bin.
