Gigs I'm going to. The Gyroscope diaries

That would be very cool…but £50…

They did a one-off last year, apparently

Now so old that the kids come up to me with “can we buy some drugs please mistah?” :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Well anyway that was brilliant. All four acts that I saw were great.

Something like £25 well spent and it’s a lot more constructive than drinking myself into a coma in front of the TV.

We’re booking for Liverpool in February, they missed us out last year

Yes it’s ages away but I always enjoy it and the tickets will only get more expensive, so I’ve booked as soon as they went on sale.

EW were very good. Support a bit meh. I was designated driver and mateys presented me with an EW t-shirt when I dropped them home. Nice

Nice. Seeing them on Friday

Never been.

I had tickets one year, left it too late and the flights were £1000 so I gave up.

This is already a pretty good bill.

Ooh, ooh, I wonder if it’s doable by train.

The answer seems to be St Pancras → Brussels → Cologne → Berlin.

Just bought tickets to see Pye Corner Audio at the end of November, and Tangerine Dream in February.

I was told it’s a much nicer atmosphere than the London one

Weird. London always seems very collegiate to me. Everyone looking out for everyone else cos they’re all outcasts

I think they might just have had a chance bad experience and the Oslo atmosphere is particularly nice.

It’s also a friend of an acquaintance so not sure how much stock I put in their opinion :joy:

Wife giving it “what, you gone from Thursday to Tuesday? Shoo! Shoo!”

I’ll buy a ticket and think about logistics later.

An acapella evening today, the last Culverake concert for a while (hopefully not for ever).
Lizzie Hardingham will add to the next generation of folkies in a couple of months, so the trio are taking a break for a bit.

Who were the support? Local support just?

Magick Potion from Baltimore. Good in places but overall not for me.

Just doing mystery shopping for planes, trains and automobiles re: Desertfest Berlin and I came across this gem from the organisers.

For this year’s Desertfest, we have come up with a special feature for all out-of-town guests due to horrendous hotel prices.

All guests with tickets can now book an overnight ticket for 15 euros/night. You will spend the night on the floor of the Columbia Theater, which will be covered with pond foil. All you need is a sleeping bag and a sleeping mat. Earplugs and toothbrushs are strongly recommended!

The dorm room will open at 1am and must be vacated by 10am the next morning.

That’s very thoughtful but I will be 60 years old and I AM NOT DOING THAT
