Gigs I'm going to. The Gyroscope diaries

Next Friday is “Just Radiohead” at the Concorde two in Brighton. Highly rated tribute band. Should be fun.

Pretty sure I have a spare ticket or two if anyone fancies it.

I saw of its existence but didn’t chase it up. Thank you.

In retrospect I realise it wouldn’t really work for an event that’s in the evening / night. You arrive in Berlin early in the morning long before you can check into a hotel, then leave in the evening either before the gig has finished or 24 hours later, long after kicking out at a hotel.

The whole scheme is kind of on hold once I’d worked out that I’d be looking at £700 plus living expenses (let’s face it, beer and currywurst) if I fly out of City, or well north of a grand if I take trains and break my journey in Cologne.

It needs either a lot of YOLO or a significant premium bonds win

A lot of hotels will look after your luggage before and after :man_shrugging:

and a few hours at a loose end in Berlin doesnt sound like the worst 1st world problem :man_shrugging:

Iam sure you can make it happen :+1:

Had hoped to go and see Carlton Melton tonight but I’m still struggling with my breathing so I’m going to stay home and sulk instead.

That’s a shame. Hope you feel better soon, Ólan.

I’ve got tickets to see Cabaret Voltaire in a couple of weeks. I’ll be carried to that gig if necessary.

That’s the spirit. That will be a corker.

This looks quite an interesting concept. Six hundred seater broadcast live in spatial audio.
Will be hard work trying to get a ticket but at £40 a head you certainly can’t complain about the prices. The acts aren’t exactly to my taste but some big names in there and at least there’s no Ticketmaster or Live Nation involvement.

Brilliant idea.

Live at Pompeii 2050. First couple of tracks very promising. Lots of men of a certain age.

Tonight at The Old Market in Hove.
Never seen them before, recommended by one of the Brizzle crew @ Waxy?

I think the wife is due to be away again and I’ll be at a loose end

Boshed it.

I can walk to the Electric. On the other hand I’ll have my bus pass by then

I’m going to Joe Jackson on Monday in the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool. He is one of Jackie’s favourite artists. Luckily, it is a seated gig. I’m going to Cabaret Voltaire at the Arts Club in Liverpool on Sunday 11th of October with my best mate who is travelling over from Dublin for the gig. I’m looking forward to the show but dreading standing for a prolonged period as my breathing is very compromised at the moment.

Have you considered reserved seating until you are standing-healthy?

I don’t think there’s any reserved seats available.
