I’m still completely underwhelmed. Hopefully they can rescue it with the encore, if they’re not too cool to play an encore that is.

There was very little crowd noise on the tv feed, so hard to judge how it went down with them. Apart from the footage of the crowd having a great time. And apart from the shot of that bloke yawning at nearly midnight.
FoL #2 & I thought they were pretty good, I like their recent stuff though, and don’t mind them playing it in concert. Was good to hear Dancefloor though, obvs.
HOT CHIP… rapidly restoring my faith. Brilliant!

There were some long gaps between songs…
But live: smashed it.
I suspect the telly made it look more of a pastiche.

It just came over more ‘Arty’ than ‘Party’ - Media reviews are rather mixed today.
If you just like the greatest hits and sing a longs (the part of the crowd who have likely never bought one of their records), you’d have had wandering attention.
I’ve read all the reviews and this one strikes the truest note with me
Proper music critic gives objective review. The vocals were superb. The band were flawless. The music was chosen to add some balance and the set was a really good mix of all the albums.
Haters hate. Fanbois drool. One thing you can’t argue is they are a band who are at the top of their game.

Just caught up with the Fred again set. Never heard of them previously. Surprisingly moving and uplifting. Really enjoyed it and perfect for their time slot.
