Turns out I was in first place. Shot nett 75 today. Hit a few really bad shots. Ended up 7th. 3 shots behind. Down to 14 and got half a dozen balls for a couple of two’s.
Not unhappy, but thinking of those dumb dropped shots.

Had been invited to play Royal Cinque Ports at the weekend. Probably do it in the new year with a bit of luck.

Have played Princes just up the coast
I imagine they are similar in that they can be brutal in the wind.

Wife’s best friends husband is a member, and also at Thorndon Park. Very nice course is Thordon. Looking forward to Cinque Ports. Only played one Royal, and that was The Hague.
Used to play Royal County Down occasionally and Royal Portrush quite often, they let us play the Dunluce once when we turned up for the valley and there was a last minute cancellation.
I lost 9 balls on the first 12 holes.

He got another hole in one on Monday (no tv cameras).
It’s by far the most weird hole in one you could ever see.
Outrageous.
All the players bounce the balls across the lake in that Par 3 comp in the lead up to the Masters but I don’t think anyone else has a hole in one doing it. Amazing!
