Just remembered I put 30p on 19-9.
Might splash out on a meal deal.
Golf clubs are on extremely long deliveries in some cases.
3&4 irons especially, and to be honest I am surprised you ordered a 4 iron as I doubt you will use it much (with any success) before your handicap goes down to about 10.
I know of one delivery that was held up for an extra 6 weeks because of the grips that had been specified.
Had a different grip been specified then delivery would have been a lot quicker.
Did you get fitted for the irons?
I have more success off the tee with a 3 or 4 iron than I do with a 3 wood.
Not sure why it said custom as all the options were ‘standard’, I suspect they just label it as a custom order so you can’t cancel or return.
You should probably get them fitted. It helps a lot.
The 4 iron is a great club. I have great success with it.
Thus, it’s my most favouritist bat
I don’t own one!
A 5 iron is the biggest iron I hit off a fairway (175yds) After that it is a hybrid
The Pringle-Tarbuck-a-thon thread is over that way
decided to bunk off work early and play the front 9 this afternoon.
2x pars, 5x bogies and 2x double bogies, practically PGA level for me.
Who needs new clubs?
that was with the new clubs, weirdly although they said they only had the 4 & 6 they all arrived apart from the 5 iron.
Bit of a buggerance as the 5 is my favourite
You are weird, my 5 iron hardly ever comes out of the bag and I don’t own a 4 iron!
I don’t own any woods and can’t hit them at all.
Typical par4 is 4 iron off the tee and 5 iron for me as I have a slow swing but I can normally hit the green in two (and then 3 or 4 putt)
Do you normally take a divot with a good iron shot?
5 iron was my favourite club.
Think I saw Einstürzende Neubauten there in ‘85.
no
Surprising that you can’t hit a wood then.
Have you had any lessons Chris?
Maybe work on the putting then ?
Did have one years ago that pretty much just covered how to grip.
Do intend to do lessons, there is a local guy who teaches based on playing 9 holes rather than a driving range which I think will be good.
On course lessons are great (and are often about shot selection and course management rather than technical) but you really need to sort out the basic swing first.
Your club professional should be able to get you into some good habits before bad ones get ingrained
