Played a club match away against my old club earlier.
One of the blokes we played against, who was off 5 and giving me 9 shots was a bit of a miserable fucker from the start.
He did start par birdy to begin 2 up though. Thought we might be in a bit of trouble.
Had a bit of a decent round and we got it to 2 up at the turn.
Made a lovely birdy net eagle on the 15th to finish them off.
Few grumbling an about handicaps. Showed him all of handicap record with all the scores in that course.
Made me extra happy and a bit of a smug cunt shaking his hand.
Partner played alright, and did join in and play well after a wayward first few holes. Other team got angrier after 9 and went a bit rubbish.
These young uns don’t half hit the ball hard, but seem to have little sense of direction.

Got up early to play in the monthly stabledord. Open boot of car and trolley falls out. Wheel smashed.
Bag way too heavy for me to be carrying around. No time to go home and put the winter wheels on and get back in time.
Having a cuppa and watching rugby highlights.
The club don’t have push trolleys, electric trolleys, buggies for hire?

Nope. The club house is effectively a large shed. Has an honesty bar for drinks n snacks n stuff. Can of beer is £1.50.
Should have asked were the caddies were I suppose.
Ended up having an enjoyable time figuring out Alfa gearboxes. Got a 4th gear synchro that has been an irritant for years. Gonna try and sort it this winter.

Have just been watching the Players and wondered why Cameron Smith wasn’t playing as he is a previous champ.
Unlike other events there is no invite the field is just the top 150 players on the PGA tour and Smith plays on the LIV tour.
Googled an article on the subject
The fifth paragraph explains all, although defecating seems to be an unusual way of leaving!

The Players was a great tournament - the LIV stuff is utter shite in comparison. Just like the Saudi Pro football league.
Could understand why the has-beens like Westwood and Poulter signed up but Rahm, Johnson, Smith etc should be ashamed for prostituting themselves to the Saudi’s. It’s not like they weren’t multi millionaires already.
The PGA and R&A should have stuck to their guns and banned any LIV players from competing.

They more or less have now as they will not award ranking points for LIV events.
Some events are not run by those bodies.
The Masters can invite who they like and past champs have automatic invites until they are 65, there are other exemptions for other events like The Open (all past champs until 55) The US open (10 years) plus these winning these events gives qualifying exemption for 5 years from majors and enough fedex points to make playoffs.

Played golf for first time since sept/oct last year.
Greensomes. Fifth out of twenty. Won two pounds. Gonna be rich.
It was a bit nippy out and the rain showers were a bit unwelcome.
Short game a bit rusty. Quite enjoyed it.
Cost of entry was two pounds.

Lost my first club match last weekend. 2&1. Just couldn’t get a put to drop. I had the sad.
Bought a new carry bag today. A Rife Lite. Felt lighter than the Ping hoofer I fancied and was a hell of a lot cheaper. More pockets, dividers and handles.
Strap was a bit cheap. Put the Izzo one on from my old bag. Perfect now.
Invited to play Deal again in a few weeks. Much practice to be done before that.
Short game going well. Taking a shorter backswing and hitting through it a bit more. Works a treat so far.

Gutted with the last medal I played. Was 10 over for 4 holes. 4 over for the rest. Said some rude words.
Would love to get back to single figures, but don’t really get time to practice enough.
