FG from the Niners for the win!

Some games neither team deserves to lose.
This was one where neither team deserved to win

Sloppy win but with the Niners banged up squad I’ll take it :slightly_smiling_face: Especially since the Cards had our number last season

Don’t know if I’ll watch all of Chiefs-Giants, snooze fest written all over it

Nick Bosa getting his knee checked tomorrow, Niners say they don’t think it’s his ACL :folded_hands:

Rant time.
Get rid of that fucking stupid “brotherly shove” play. As I’ve said before, it looks like shit, and now the fucking Eagles have started cheating on the play because it’s so hard to officiate.
Fuck the fuck off, go back to the 1920s if you want to watch that kind of shitty football

Everything I have read and heard says it will be gone at the end of the season

One of the things I really like about the NFL is that they are constantly tweaking the rules to improve the spectator experience. They know it’s about entertainment, and they provide it really well. Other sports, most notable football, could really learn from this.

VAR?

Rugby has done well with miked refs giving reasons for penalties cards etc

Wage cap like that of the NFL is something that football would hugely benefit from, to create a genuinely competitive game.

However there’s not a snowball chance in hell that the money sloshing around would ever permit that to happen so we have a bunch of other rules to embed a few teams with an advantage.

Rugby has done well for sure - the changes to ruck and maul rules to promote attacking play have been great, and the safety protocols are world leading.

VAR in football has been a clusterfuck, working in opposition to the flow of the game, which is one of the best things about it! The way that the game has been bought by the big clubs and the huge increase in shithousery are both abject lessons in how not to run a sport. I can’t watch it now.

Smart gumshields that record the force of collisions and activate concussion protocols has been a brilliant innovation.
But I do wonder if that has come about because of the legal actions taking place

@Professor_Chaos Not sure if there have been any similar claims from NFL players? Although the use of helmets etc probably makes a difference to the ‘due care’ process

NFL has paid $1.2 billion in compensation since 2015 to retired players with dementia or other brain diseases linked to concussions

Watching the early early game in Dublin

Won’t be watching the early games as The Ryder Cup calls!

Eagles-Bucs game is very good :+1:

Back in the game!
Would not have thought the Niners would be down to the Jags and to be honest I fancied the Ravens against the Chiefs.

It is a good job I am not a betting man!

Chiefs looked good with Worthy back for Mahomes to throw to, and he’ll have Rashee Rice any week now too.
KC will be in the mix by the end of the season because they’re the Kansas City Chiefs. This squad is still a couple of seasons away from being washed up
